I know these dont strictly fall into the complex board state definitions, but paying attention to the small details, especially with phases, is a massive part of MTGA that you may need to take very seriously when you compete at high stakes tournaments or when you have invested gems in the valuable events like Arena Direct and Arena Open
Because weaker pokmon cards have fewer hit points and are easier to knock out, players must evolve them while equipping them with enough energy cards to pull off powerful attacks of their own or play the right kinds of trainer cards to keep their monsters from fainting
Some power was faked very well, of course, but this was never done in large quantities and most Magic players dont even think about cards at this level
