Cutts, Sutton, & Son, Sheffield, England, Circa 1870, 2" W x 1-3/4" H 4758 worn surface and great folk-artAntique brass tripod map reader loupe with a threaded lens housing on three fixed legs, accompanied by a cylindrical brass storage canister with a friction fit lid. The canister lid is stamped with the "Try Me" anchor trademark of J. P. Cutts, Sutton, & Son, Sheffield, England, circa 1870. The loupe and canister show oxidation, tarnish, and patina throughout the brass surfaces. The black finish surrounding the lens has areas of loss and wear.
