It is the evolution of an earlier linocut I made of a single "paradise bird" (a mythical creature)

so I put him on a stage in front of an old velvet curtain with gold braiding and called him "Show Pony"

I love the way this little fellow is beaming out of the leaves! He has been created by carving the image onto a linoleum block, printing the block in black ink and then hand colouring the blossoms with red watercolour once the black ink has dried.
