Chateau Brown Cantenac Margaux 1996 750ml 100 Perfectly balanced and convenientServed blind at the Southwold 2009 tasting. One of the standout and perhaps most surprising showings was the performance of Cantenac Brown '09. It has a more lifted, oaky bouquet with dark cherries, cassis and violets. It displays good precision with admirable purity. The palate is medium bodied with a sweet sappy entry. It is very primal compared to its peers, but it shows very good balance, whilst the finish is precise and silky smooth.
