They spend a good chunk of the game catching frogs in Qu's Marsh (there's even a golden frog sidequest), while their main battle ability is actually "Eat" - consuming weakened enemies to learn Blue Magic (enemy skills)
Although were going to have to wait for Saturdays Debut Showcase to see details like converted mana cost, power and toughness, and abilities, the frames do reveal the names and color-identities for each card: Tifa Lockhart Green Cloud, Midgar Mercenary White Squal, SeeD Mercenary Orzhov (White & Black) Lightning, Army of One Boros (White & Red) Gilgamesh, Master-at-Arms Red Kefka, Court Mage // Kefka, Ruler of Ruin Multicolor (unknown) Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER // Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel Black The MTGFINAL FANTASY Debut Showcase will take place Saturday, May 10 at 12 PM ET in the PAX East Main Theatre
There is no first edition, its just a completionist thing
From what I understand, Disney wanted to steer clear of that association in the initial release, especially as many children could/would be attending prereleases
