When my opponent is locked out of any meaningful plays, I want to drag the game out as long as possible and take my time savoring the inevitable victory

We wont have any new basics until Theros: Beyond Death early next year, so its another great time to take a look at a large chunk of what we already have

But spending time and money on mana stuff lets you ensure that you can do things like cast fat spells and dorks and break people's faces and draw cards and ramp and counter and loads more

I'm not sure what the desire to play around with these sorts of effects is, because they're either immensely annoying, or they win on the spot with the right set-up
